Rocky, unyielding soils. Fierce, relentless wind. Sun-drenched, towering mountains. This is British Columbia's rugged Similkameen Valley. Boundary Spring is a single vineyard red blend, led by Cabernet Sauvignon, that delivers the wild beauty of the valley to your glass.

SUB-REGION

Similkameen Valley

The Similkameen's contrasting weather and rugged terrain create an ideal growing environment for Bordeaux reds. The intense sun ensures full phenolic ripeness, while the cool nights preserve acidity, yielding wines with remarkable balance and structure.

Soil

Similkameen silt loam with gravel and stones

The high silt content retains moisture, while gravel and stones enhance drainage. This combination fosters even ripening and highly concentrated fruit.

Elevation

385-425m

The elevated exposure allows for slower, more even phenolic ripening, leading to well-developed tannins, and rich colour.

Our Note

Rich and full-bodied, Boundary Spring shows lush, inky wild berry fruit accented by desert sagebrush and the dusty minerality of the Similkameen. Suave and polished, it's approachable now, but with dense fruit concentration to support further aging over the next 5-7 years.

Winemaking

A 17-barrel blend aged largely in neutral French oak barriques, with five new barrels (30%) selected to complement the fruit. We tasted through nearly 50 barrels to select the blend, with the Cabernet Sauvignon in particular being a stand out.
